The cheapest safari in the table is Safartica's Easy Snowmobile Safari: 1.5 hours with transfers and winter clothing for €95 per person with two on a sled, €55 more to drive alone. Lapland Safaris and Wild Nordic run 1-hour rides from €97 and €99. For the northern lights, Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park's evening tour costs €139 and the 3-hour aurora safari of Lapland Safaris €179. To drive on your own, North Service, 25 km from the centre, rents a touring sled for €155 for 2 hours, fuel included.

North Service rents a touring sled for €155 for 2 hours with fuel, or €205 for a day without fuel. Its base is 25 km from the centre, and a suit, boots and gloves cost €15 a day.
Many Rovaniemi safaris start outside the city. Apukka Resort, Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park and Wild Nordic include a transfer from the centre, and the total time counts it: Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park's 2-hour safari takes about 3 hours in all.
Official snowmobile routes are free. Trails run by Metsähallitus, the state forest agency, need a trail permit for 3 hours, a day, a week or the season, at €17, €29, €60 or €100, and sales for 2026–27 start on 1 November.
On a marked snowmobile route the driver needs at least a T-class licence, which a car licence includes, and the law sets the minimum age at 15. The safari companies in the table usually ask drivers to be 18.
The prices of Safartica, Lapland Safaris, Wild Nordic and Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park were read from their booking calendars for mid-January 2027, and the price for your date can differ. Apukka Resort and Access Lapland print one price without a season, and North Service's rental page states no season.
